Team Spotlight: Meet the People Behind the Service

Felix Radgon – Network Engineer

Felix possesses over 15 years of experience in the IT industry, serving as a Network Engineer at DataComm and playing a key role in supporting our customers’ infrastructure environments. He specializes in VMware and Hyper-V virtualization, as well as server upgrades, helping ensure systems remain reliable, secure, and up to date. Felix is continuously expanding his knowledge and skills and is a valuable member of our technical team.

In addition to his engineering work, Felix regularly travels to the Tampa Data Center, where he works hands-on with customer equipment located in secure cages. His on-site expertise allows DataComm to deliver dependable support for critical systems and complex infrastructure needs. In December 2023. DataComm Networks was proud to recognize Felix as the first annual DataComm Employee of the Year, presenting him with this prestigious award!

Outside of work, Felix enjoys life as a new parent. He and his wife, Lina, are raising their two-year-old daughter, Sarah, and spend much of their time together attending playdates and children’s events. They are thoroughly enjoying the rewarding (and busy) experience of parenthood. Felix also enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, gaming, working on cars and simply enjoying life.

Craig Raiford – Senior Systems Engineer

Craig has over 15 years of experience in the banking industry, including 21 years in technical roles. Before joining DataComm, he worked directly at a bank, giving him a firsthand insight into the challenges faced by our financial-sector customers— because he’s truly been in their shoes.

Craig has been with DataComm for 9 years and serves as a Senior Systems Engineer, where he plays a key role in customer support. In addition, he works closely with our Sales team, partnering with Brian, Lee, Cody, and Kofi to review customer environments, provide annual recommendations as part of the Customer Annual Review process, and create proposals and Statements of Work for new networking projects. In December 2025, Craig was presented with our 3rd Annual Employee of the Year Award.

Outside of work, Craig enjoys spending time with family and friends. He and his wife, Tiffany, have four children, making life both rewarding and busy. You’ll often find Craig at high school football games watching his daughter Cheerlead for the football team, attending golf matches for his middle daughter, or supporting his son at flag football games.

VMware vSphere to Microsoft Hyper-V: Helping Customers Navigate Change

Recent licensing and cost increases from Broadcom have led many organizations to reassess their VMware vSphere environments. Following Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware, there have been significant price increases in VMware renewals, especially for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Many customers are now experiencing substantial increases in annual licensing and support costs that may no longer align with budget expectations.

As some of our customers’ license renewals have approached, we have engaged in conversations with them and developed a viable alternative and migration strategy.

To help customers control costs and reduce uncertainty, DataComm now supports migrations from vSphere 8 to Microsoft Hyper-V. We have been actively engaged in these virtualization migrations since mid-2025, transitioning many of our SecurNOC managed customers from existing VMware infrastructure to Microsoft’s Hyper-V virtualization platform. For many environments, Hyper-V provides the functionality customers rely on today—without escalating costs or licensing uncertainty.

Why Hyper-V?

  • Lower and more predictable licensing costs
  • Tight integration with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft security tools
  • Strong performance and reliability for most enterprise workloads
  • A supported, long-term roadmap from Microsoft

How Can DataComm Help?

DataComm provides end-to-end migration support, including environment assessments, migration planning, VM conversions, downtime-aware execution, and post-migration optimization. Our engineers have deep experience in both VMware and Microsoft platforms, ensuring a smooth and secure transition.

If your VMware renewal is approaching, DataComm can help you evaluate your options and plan a cost-effective path forward. Please reach out via DataComm Support @ 877.544.3655 or email helpdesk@www-prod.datacomm.com.
